For every review

Use even light, a clean camera lens and no beauty filter or retouching. Keep the makeup visible and avoid strong overhead shadows. Include the products and shades you used.

For artist critiques

Include front, side and detail views, plus a video of up to 60 seconds showing the finished look. If you want feedback on application technique, use that clip to show the specific step you want reviewed.

If you worked on a model

Get their permission to submit their images for private feedback. Public portfolio sharing will require separate permission; it will never be a condition of receiving a critique.

What images can tell us

Photos and video help us assess a look, but cameras and lighting can change color and texture. Finished photographs cannot show every application step.

Can I submit a look now?

Yes. Pay through the Square link for your chosen review, then email your photos and receipt to smuastudio@protonmail.com. The form below prepares your email; attach your images and send it from your email app. Feedback is delivered by email.

Will my photos appear on the website?

Your submission is for private feedback. Any publication will require a separate, optional permission. You can receive a review without agreeing to public sharing.

Is this a live video lesson?

No. The review is asynchronous: you submit your work and receive feedback afterward. For guided practice together, choose a private lesson.

What if my photos aren’t clear enough?

We’ll ask for clearer images before starting the critique. The three business day turnaround begins once payment is verified and your submission is complete.

Does the Artist Critique include a course or certificate?

No. It is feedback on one look, with priorities for your practice. It does not include a course, qualification or ongoing mentorship.
